Mr. Zenner will interact with you and offer reflections on what you present. He actively teaches many concepts and provides handouts. Though he is an attentive listener, he does not spend the session passively nodding. Therapy is a collaboration. In a way we will be like scriptwriters reviewing the "rough-draft" that you and yours have written so far.  Therapy is a re-write.  What you are committed to will shape your future.

Healthy people hunger for meaning in their lives. Life is a process with a purpose. It involves ethics and values that sometimes conflict. Life flows and is never stagnant, though at times it feels that way.  We will work to adapt to this never-ending nature of life in which we are presented with lesson after lesson.  The past is as good as it's going to get. Effective living is present day living.

Therapy "assignments" have purpose.  From time to time I may ask if you are willing to do  "such and such" between therapy sessions.  It is important that you carefully consider your willingness to answer "yes" only when you are truly willing to follow-through with the assignment. Of course you always have the option of declining the suggestion.
